About Ida!
Ida grew up on a farm in Yolo, just north of Woodland, in the 1920s with four brothers and two other sisters. Their parents were immigrants from Germany. Ida and her sister Ruth never married or had any kind of social life, other than family, and lived together in Woodland their entire adult lives until Ruth passed away at the age of 90 four years ago leaving Ida alone in the home they purchased together new in 1992. Ida and Ruth were meticulous in keeping this and their previous homes like new, inside and out, as well as their belongings in the home. Unfortunately, the tasks in carrying out all of the necessary maintenance of the home started to wear on Ida, who recently turned 90. Ida’s niece, Gail, made the decision to relocate Ida to an assisted living facility in Sacramento which required a six mile instead of a sixty mile round trip to tend to her aunt’s needs. This relocation to a small apartment meant leaving behind many years’ worth of accumulated items which now requires an estate sale to properly dispose of.
Lovingly Penned And Shared By Family
Two spinster sisters lived in this home for many years. They had in fact lived together since childhood without ever once being apart. One sister recently passed away and the other sister Ida, at 90 years, moved into assisted living leaving much of her household in tact for you to shop through and enjoy. These girls had wonderful taste and cared for all they had immaculately and with lots of love~
The garden has lots of fun yard art, driftwood and decor as well as tools. The house is nicely decorated with 60s to 70s fancy lady items and a few men’s things as well. We will update photos on both sales Sunday – Monday night if possible so check back then.
