Welcome to our celebration for the life and times of Barbra Bruns from Manteca. I met Barb over 30 years ago at the Galt flea market and loved her ever since. She passed nearly 4 years ago and her children are just now getting to the point where they can say goodbye to her gigantic collection. Since Barb did shows all over California and traveled to shop and trade…she acquire a massive collection of antiques, collectibles, ephemera, advertising (including the dividers for the original Sambo’s Kitchen that light up) books, children’s and doll’s furniture, 1,000s of doll clothes, dolls, a large Teddy bear collection, black memorabilia, toys, linens, jewelry, vintage Christmas decorations, primitives, kitchenware, hats and boxes, records, textiles, quilts by the dozens, fabric, quilt pieces, cars, blocks, tools, artwork and frames, baskets, cabinets and display racks and shelves, furniture, hand painted chairs, furs, and so much more.
As we barely made a ‘dent’ today prepping (as you can see by our photos of the over 500 boxes and crates still to be unpacked and staged) we may just have to rent the venue for an additional week to have the second part of the sale next week at Kobasics. We will know more by Wednesday and will keep you all posted once we decide. There is so darned much great stuff to set out for you to dig through that we would be irresponsible if we did not at least try to make this shop-able for everyone who can make it over.
Barbra was one of my favorite buyers of all times with a generous spirit, a good eye for fashion and a gentle heart for shopping. She was always quick to ask how you were and care about the answer. She is missed by all who knew her!
We will have our sale this Thursday November 30th from 9am-6pm with fair pricing running all day long, we’ll move to have price Friday 9am-6pm and Saturday half price 9am-12noon with boxlot running 12noon-2pm. We will have free and donation of the items the family allows us to donate that day but chances are we will be holding back what we cannot possible unload onto tables until the next week when we will have ALL NEW choices for you to shop from. Wish us luck on getting it all unpacked this week!
