What Makes You Extraordinary!

This is what makes once woman extraordinary...shared with me by a new found friend.
Those of you who know me and have spoken to me at great length understand why
I love Ted.
Talks Every Day.
TED is a nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds:
Technology, Entertainment, Design.
I love it. I love the ideas put forth…the notion that we should all share them. The rationale that if we each spent just some of our TV, internet or film watching time learning to become a better, more enlightened person, it could and would be a better world to live in.
The whole spectrum of common thoughts that engulf the conferences; people from all corners of the earth sharing ideas, secrets, experiences and glimmers of hope and wisdom….I love it all!
So this week, with the interruption of shifting dates, times and preparations for our next sales, leaves me able to send you a message of introduction instead of an invitation to buy more stuff. Don’t think I won’t send you another email when the
preparations for our next sales get solidified and the photos are available for sending. Just for now, I wanted to let you know…that Ted talks are worth a few minutes of your time.
In the past few years I have spent hundreds of hours enjoying the wisdom of these talks. I relax, sit down, settle in and even some days wake up to these glimpses of hope and dreams.
I’ve enjoyed talks from children and old people, doctors, lawyers, politicians and artists. I’ve sat through 15 minutes on subjects from war and peace to health and diet. You can find a Ted talk on emotional and physical health, vegan-ism, English, poetry, art, invention, money, children, sex or love. Anything you can think of is being or has been shared on this network of talks from all over the world.
I really do think it is worth 15 minutes of your day to take a glimpse into one of these talks.
If not…I will speak with you soon about our next home to empty.
If in fact you do want to up the ante on your own knowledge for living in this world a bit more prepared than the day before…give it a glimpse and have a good cry.
Tissue is one of the only things you will need when watching many of the talks.
That and privacy to not be interrupted for the whole presentation.
Thanks to all of you who came to our sale in Napa to help us empty the Ink Inn.
We got everything sold from the house and nearly everything from the basement and barn. The new owner can now get started on his own dreams there.
The place is an amazing reflection of history. One can just sit inside that old inn and hear the footsteps of horses pulling wagons, kids playing outside and above all…the lack of traffic and airplanes that now seem to take over the roads and sky.
If only for a day or two, the visit helped us place ourselves back in history of the mid-1800s to when life was simpler and things were much quieter.
It was a nice change and we felt lucky to spend time there.
Not to mention sleeping in that great cupola overlooking the vineyards below.
What a blessing that experience was.
Thanks once more for your patronage and also the read.
