Michelle A. Claussen was born on August 30, 1952 in Copenhagen, Denmark to Eliane Manset and Jorgen Adolph.
The family, including Michelle’s two sisters, Lilliane and Lisbeth moved to Santa Barbara in 1965. Michelle graduated from Bishop Diego High School in Santa Barbara and then from UC Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts degree in geography in 1975.
After graduation she moved to Santa Monica and worked as a media buyer and later as a human resource officer for a biotech company.
In 1985 she married Richard Claussen and they moved to the Sacramento area. In 1991 their daughter, Katrina Michelle Claussen was born.
Michelle was fluent in Danish and traveled extensively in Europe, including many trips to see relatives and friends in Denmark and many trips to the family’s vacation home in St. Telmo on the Mediterranean island of Mallorca. She was an avid tennis player for many years and the family always had dogs to spoil including Sierra, Shasta, Shana and Mya.
Michelle loved and adored her Daughter, Katrina and her niece Mindy, relatives in Denmark and many Manset family cousins and relatives in the Santa Barbara area. She had a full and wonderful life and her household shows this by way of all she left behind for you to shop from. We are honored to be a part of her existence…if only in the aftermath.
Please join us this Thursday October 13th from 9am-6pm at her home to celebrate her life and to shop from her estate at [address removed for privacy].
