Charity Estate Sale
February 20th through 21st 2009
Thank you to everyone who stopped by to show their support for Loaves & Fishes and help us to empty the entire home. We were able to raise over $2500 for the charity!
Located at 1276 Nevis Ct, Sacramento, CA 95822, February 20th to 21st from 7am until 6pm, We will be hosting a whole house estate sale with all of our profits going directly to the local charity of Loaves & Fishes. This community organization helps men, women and hundreds of homeless children find solace with shelter, food, clothing, medical care, and education.
This is our very first Charity event, with all of our proceeds being donated to a worthy cause. The buyers are asked to bring their own boxes, wrapping, and help moving larger furniture items. The Mori family is emptying the home to sell it and wish to have all contents gone by Sunday the 22nd of February.
Never before have we had the pleasure of giving so much to others by offering so little of ourselves. Each of the crew is donating his/her time, the food is donated, the advertising and all of the pricing and prep time as well. This is a chance for each of you to give a bit of your own heart (consider it a belated Valentine to yourself) and reach out to the local needy and homeless families while you enrich your own life with fine antiques and fun collectibles, as well as general everyday household items that must go too!
Please join us for a fun family outing at this South Land Park home. The couple who lived here, while both have passed on, raised four close knit siblings in this home while they were educated in local schools from Sam Brannan, McClatchy, Joaquin Miller to Hollywood Park Elementary. The children all now live within a few miles of this home and has each begun their own families anew.
The grandparents emigrated from Japan in the early 1900s to make a better life in America. After WWII the parents returned to Sacramento, met, married and raised the four children in the Hollywood Park area until the 60s when they bought the home in question.
It is now time to allow another family to begin their life’s journey in this home and so we will need to empty it’s contents and cannot think of a better way to do so than with an estate sale whose profits benefit those less fortunate.
if you have anything lying around your home that you are not using that is included on the "current needs list" for the Loaves & Fishes homeless shelter, you may consider dropping it at the sale into the big box tagged "Loaves & Fishes" and we will bring all the goodies to the shelter on Monday to Sister Libby when we present them with our proceeds from this estate sale.
Addendum: The family has opted to keep all of the rock and roll records, so those of you who would come to purchase these might want to wait until the next sale for record buys.
If you’d like to donate directly to Loaves & Fishes contact Sister Libby at srlibby@sacloaves.org
